Our cookbook is available for pre-order

Our cookbook has been published and is ready for pre-order at sellers who do pre-sales, such as Barnes & Noble, Amazon and Bookshop. The official release date is 8/6/24.

The publisher did an amazing job with our book. The front and back covers look inviting and fresh, the interior of the book is similar to my original but better, and they included lines to write on in the journaling sections. I also edited my original photos to brighten them up and took new photos of several recipes. My dad and I updated just a couple of the recipes, and I included a new section on batch cooking.

If you don't know much about the cookbook, it contains 100 recipes, but I wanted to write more than a recipe book. I wanted to teach and share the knowledge I've gained over the past decade as a plant-based cook and eater, and give you space to journal your thoughts and ideas on recipes. I wanted to create a cookbook that was a useful tool in the kitchen, and honors the uniqueness of each of us.

The book contains a mini cooking school of sorts in the beginning, with tips on how to utilize different cooking methods for vegetables, how to preserve the beautiful pigments in vegetables, how to build flavors in a dish, how to stock your kitchen, and how to batch cook. We constructed templates for several different kinds of dishes, so that you can learn to build your own with the ingredients you prefer. Templates include oatmeal, granola, pancakes, veggie burgers, soups, bowls, dressings, sauces (including an ultimate plant-based cheeze sauce template), and energy bites. There are 5 versions of vegan ranch dressing using everything from zucchini to beans to cashews as the base. We include a build-a-bar template with ideas on how to set up different themes of food, so each person can assemble their own dish with the amounts and kinds of ingredients they enjoy.

The book contains a detailed table of contents, so I opted for no index. I've found indexes to be useful in some cookbooks but not others, and since the table of contents gives good direction on where to find things, I decided against the index for this book.

This is a down-to-earth, homegrown, from-the-heart cookbook that my dad and I enjoyed putting together so much. It was also a way to honor my dad, who has been my guiding light my whole life, and to express my gratitude that he is still here in this life after adopting a plant-based diet to address his health. We adopted plant-based diet for health reasons, and as a nurse, it is my duty to make this way of eating known to people, so that they have the option to explore it if they wish as a way of improving or maintaining their own health and well-being.

We hope you'll consider purchasing this book as an investment in yourself and your loved ones, something that you can get great use from for years to come. And if you decide not to purchase it, that's okay too - if you could let other people know it exists, that helps more than you know.

Thank you all so much for supporting us on this journey. We are so very grateful for all of you, and wish you all health and joy.

In wellness and well-being,

Jeannette
